RECREATIONAL EVENTS*
*Recreational events are not events that will go on to Nationals.
Basketball - Men (Free Throw) - Friday, March 30, 8:30am - Barshop Jewish Community Center, 12500 NW Military Hwy. Best of twenty shots from the free throw line. 65+ will shoot from 11 feet. Around the World - Immediately after free throw - one minute to shoot baskets from various locations.
Basketball - Women (Free Throw) - Friday, March 23, 11am - St. Mary's University, One Camino Santa Maria. Best of twenty shots from the free throw line. 65+ will shoot from 11 feet. Around the World - Immediately after free throw - one minute to shoot baskets from various locations.
Billiards - Monday, March 26, 10am - Fast Eddie's, 2535 Babcock Road. 8 pool ball tournament, individual play only. BCA rules, except no jumping.
Bocce - Saturday, March 31, 9am - Del Webb Hill Country Retreat, 4550 Del Webb Blvd. Singles and Doubles. Teams may be of the same or mixed genders. Divisions are determined by the number of registrants. Scoring is the best 2 of 3 games to 7 points for a match.
San Antonio Deca-Challenge - Saturday, March 17, 9am - Velocity Sports Performance, 2211 NW Military Hwy. Ten events over two days. Strength and endurance will be tested. Strength events include push-ups, chin-ups, power clean, plank, SPARQ ball toss, and vertical jump. Athletes will be included under Track & Field for the 100M, 400M, 1500M, and Long Jump. Competitors are eligible to qualify for the National Games in these events.
SAS 2-Mile Fun Walk/Opening Ceremony - Thursday, March 22, 10am - Brackenridge Park, Koehler Pavilion. Walk will be held on the trails of Brackenridge Park. Check-in at Koehler Pavilion. Parking available by the Zoo. Opening Ceremony will begine at 9:30am.
Scrabble - Wednesday, March 28, 1pm - Granados Senior Center, 500 Freiling. Players will draw for opponents. 2 players per board. Games will last no longer than 50 minutes (25 minutes per player). Word challenges will be verified by judges.

Archery - Sunday, March 25, 9am - Canyon Lake Viking Archery, 4100 Highway 3159, Canyon Lake. Compound finger, compound release, recurve, bare bow recurve, and bare bow compound. The "900" American round with 48" target will be used for competition.
Badminton - Saturday, March 31, 9am - Barshop Jewish Community Center, 12500 NW Military Hwy. Singles, Doubles, and Mixed Doubles. Each match consists of two out of three games. 15 point games. USBA rules apply.
Basketball (Men's 3-on-3) - Friday, March 30, 10:30am - Barshop Jewish Community Center, 12500 NW Military Hwy. Half court with two twleve-minute halves. The roster limit is ten, including non-playing coaches/captains. No mixed gender teams. Number of entries determine tournament format. Age division is determined by age of the youngest player. NCAA rules apply. All players must sign waiver/Captain must submit roster and forms with payment. It is the responsibility of the Team Captain to check draw time for playing time.

Bowling - Friday, March 23 (10:30am), Saturday, March 24 (2pm), Sunday, March 25 (11am) - Brunswick Thousand Oaks Bowl, 4330 Thousand Oaks Drive. Singles, Doubles, and Mixed Doubles. Scratch scores. Singles, Doubles, and Mixed Doubles will bowl one set of three games. High scratch series will determine the place winners for each category. Partner must register for same time. Fee is per bowler.
Cycling - Saturday, March 31, 11am (10K time trials), following the time trials - approximate time for 20K Road Race - 1pm for men & women 50-64 and 80 - 89, and 2pm for men & women 65-79 - Texas Research Park, 14815 Omicron Dr - Sunday, April 1 9am (5K time trials), following the time trials - approximate time, 11am(40K Road Race). All participants must wear an ANSI or Snell approved helmet. Cyclists must report 30 minutes prior to start times. Numbers will be distributed at the event check-in.
Golf - Monday, March 26, 1pm & Tuesday, March 27, 8am - SilverHorn Golf Club, 1100 West Bitters Road. Thirty-six hole scratch event held over two days. The facility fee includes green fees and golf cart. Shotgun start. No metal spikes allowed. Medals awarded based on 36 hole total.
Pickleball - Saturday, March 24 & Sunday, March 25, 9am. Windcrest Tennis Center, 302 Zephyr Drive. Singles and Doubles will be played on Saturday, and Mixed Doubles and overlap of Saturday will be played on Sunday. Athletes may enter all three sub-events. Paddles and balls available. USPA sanctioned.
Horseshoes - Saturday, March 31, 10am - Braunig Lake Open Air Market, Exit 130 (Donop Road). Singles only. Men 50-69 pitch 40 feet. Women 75+ pitch 20 feet. All others 30 feet. Horseshoes are available. Format is double elimination cancellation scoring.
Racewalk - Sunday, March 18, 9am (5000), 10:30am (1500) - Heroes Stadium, 4799 Thousan Oaks Drive. 1500 and 5000 meter will be walked on track. Race numbers will be distributed at the event check-in.
Racquetball - Sunday, April 1, 11am - San Antonio Community College, 1300 San Pedro. Singles and Doubles. Games are 15 points. Will be played round robin or double elimination depending on the number of entrants. Eyewear with lenses designed for racquet sports are mandatory. You must have a partner for doubles. Draw available March 28.
5K Roadrace - Tuesday, March 27, 8am - McAllister Park, 13102 Jones Maltsberger. Runners will run a 5K loop (3.1 miles). Race numbers will be disributed at event check-in.
10K Roadrace - Wednesday, March 28, 8am - McAllister Park, 13102 Jones Maltsberger. Runners will run a 5K (3.1 mile) loop twice. Race numbers will be distributed at event check-in.
Shuffleboard - Monday, March 26, 10am - Del Webb Hill Country Retreat, 4550 Del Webb Blvd. Singles and Doubles. Equipment is available for use. Indoor court. Double partners may be of same or different gender.
Softball - Saturday, March 31 & Sunday, April 1, 9am - Kennedy Softball Fields, 3101 W. Roselawn Ave. Balls/bases furnished. Each team must provide other equipment. All players must sign waiver but captain must submit roster and forms with payment. No mixed gender teams. Number of teams determine tournament format. Age division of team is determined by age of the youngest player. Team roster limited to twenty (20) players, plus 2 non-playing members. It is the responsibility of the Team Captain to check draw for playing times.
Swimming - Saturday, March 24, 1:30pm & Sunday, March 25, 9am - Josh Davis Natatorium, 12002 Jones Maltsberger. 50, 100, & 200 backstroke; 50, 100, & 200 breastroke; 50 & 100 butterfly; 50, 100, 200, & 500 freestyle; 100 & 200 individual medley. All swim events will be timed finals. Warm-up begins at 8am.
Table Tennis - Saturday, March 24 (age 50-69) & Sunday, March 25 (age 70+), 9:30am - Alamo Gymnastics Center, 16675 Huebner Road. Singles, Doubles, and Mixed Doubles. Only balls will be furnished. Play shall consist of a five game match to 11; winner will be the first to win three games. Tournament format will be based on number of entrants.
Tennis - Monday, March 26, Tuesday, March 27, Wednesday, March 28, & Thursday, March 29 - McFarlin Tennis Center, 1503 San Pedro. Singles, Doubles, and Mixed Doubles. Athletes must provide their own racquets and practice balls. Game balls provided. It is the responsibility of the of the athlete to check draw for playing time. Call (210) 302-6820 beginning Wednesday, March 21 for draw information. Double players must register with a partner. If you enter more than one event, you may have to play a match each day in each event.
Track & Field Events - Saturday, March 17, 9am - Discus, High Jump, Long Jump, Javelin, Shot Put, and Pole Vault. Pole vaulters must use their own pole. Track, Hammerthrow - Sunday, March 18, 9am - Heroes Stadium, 4799 Thousand Oaks Drive. 100, 200, 400, 800, & 1500 meter races.
Triathlon - Sunday, March 25, 9am - Del Webb Hill Country Retreat - 4550 Del Webb Blvd. Swim 400 yards in indoor pool, cycle 20K (12.4 miles), and run 5K (3.1 miles).
Bike/Run Course
Volleyball - Men's - Saturday, March 24, 9am; Women's - Sunday, March 25, 8am - Barshop Jewish Community Center, 12500 NW Military Hwy. Six players on the floor. USAV rules. No mixed gender teams. Age division of the team is determined by the youngest player. Best of three game matches will advance. Number of teams will determine format. Rosters limited to fifteen players. All players must sign waiver, but Captain must submit roster and forms with payment.
